Honors Colloquium Series

The Honors College Colloquium posters were created as part of my role designing promotional materials as the University of Wisconsin–Stout Honors College's Graphic Designer. Each semester, the Honors College selects a book for students to read and discuss as part of their colloquium program. For this project I was responsible for creating a poster, magnet, and bookmark to promote the upcoming semester’s book discussion.

For each semester’s materials, the design concept was based on the themes, tone, and visual elements of the selected book. The goal was to create pieces that visually reflected the book while still functioning as clear and engaging event advertisements for students on campus.

The posters were designed to stand out on campus and communicate important event information, while the magnets and bookmarks served as smaller take-away pieces students and staff discussion leaders could keep. Consistent visual elements and typography were used across all materials to maintain cohesion, while the imagery and color palettes were tailored to reflect the specific book being discussed. Together, the pieces promote the colloquium while reinforcing the connection between the design and the reading experience.
